Teaching preschoolers about coding and robotics may sound like a big mountain to climb. However, for Dr Swati Popat it is not all that complicated once you pull back the layers and look at coding and early years education at its core. Preschoolers are taught to read, write, and count, but we are forgetting that the world around them is now full of gadgets and technology.

Dr Swati taps on Fredrich Froebel, founder of the kindergarten, and his idea of ‘Gifts’ to anchor her coding and robotics lessons. Coding concepts are not as complicated as we all imagine them to be, they may even lie in Early Years activities already existing in the classroom.
