Julio Albalad Gimeno is the Director of the National Institute of Educational Technologies and Teacher Training (INTEF). INTEF is the unit of Spain’s Ministry of Education and Vocational Training responsible for the integration of ICT and teacher training in non-university educational stages. It coordinates the actions of the digitalization and Digital Competences Plan of the educational system.

Julio shares with us developments in technology use in Spain’s local schools, the barriers on greater technology use. We also touch on INTEF’s ‘Classrooms of the Future’, a space created to train local teachers on the use of ICT in teaching. Julio also shares more on the use of AI and realistic implementations of this emerging technology.

Julio is a Keynote Speaker on EDUtech Europe’s highly anticipated Policy Panel, bringing together public education leaders from Spain, Portugal, Estonia, and the European Commission. Discover how they are making steps to realise accessible and inclusive digital education across Europe. Book you pass here.
