Gyeonggi Province, South Korea – The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education has announced plans to open “Gyeonggi Ansan International School” (tentative name), the nation’s first public international school, in 2028. This institution will be the first of its kind in South Korea, aimed at providing a high-quality, globally-oriented education to a diverse student body.
The new school will serve as an integrated middle and high school, accommodating both international and local students. The student population will be composed of 70% international students and 30% local students, reflecting the province’s commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment. Gyeonggi-do Province, home to 27% of South Korea’s total international student population, is an ideal location for this initiative. The establishment of the school is backed by a significant investment of 40 billion won.
Key features of the Geyonggi Ansan International School will include:

The main objective of the Geyonggi Ansan International School is to leverage the unique strengths of multicultural students and help them grow into world leaders. By offering a comprehensive and inclusive education, the school aims to set a new standard for public education in South Korea.
