Computer scientist Andrej Karpathy has unveiled Eureka Labs, a new AI-driven education platform. Leveraging his extensive experience at OpenAI and Tesla, Karpathy aims to revolutionise digital learning. Karpathy announced this on X, the social media platform, and shared insights into the platform’s capabilities.
Eureka Labs is designed to capitalise on the surge in generative AI technology, which has seen significant growth since the launch of ChatGPT in November 2022. The platform will enable teachers to create courses, supported by an AI teaching assistant that will guide students through the material.
The company’s inaugural offering is LLM101n, an undergraduate course that teaches students how to train their own AI models. This course serves as an introductory version of the AI teaching assistant, providing hands-on experience with AI technologies.
Karpathy, one of the founding members of OpenAI, expressed his enthusiasm for the project. “Eureka Labs is the culmination of my passion in both AI and education over about two decades,” he said in his post.
